Mayra & Mr.Mow is a meeting between Folk, Pop and Jazz.
From India, a sacred destination for Mr Mow, in Mayra's native Brazil, this duo, with its sometimes melancholy swing, reveals intimate and intense music. With them, they take away the rhythms that rocked them: the percussive piano of Nina Simone, the trumpet of Chet Baker and the verses of Chico Buarque for one; Jimmy Page’s fingering, Django’s clouds and Woodstock’s dreams in each other’s heads.
The magic happens when you get carried away at the heart of their journey, both simple and multiple. Simple by their training, multiple by the languages and universes in which their music reaches us. The soft accents of Brazil mix with poetic French but are overwhelmed by the predominant rate of English.
