Description

Released in the autumn of 1974, *Natty Dread* marks a major turning point in the discography of Bob Marley & The Wailers, standing as the first album released following the departure of founding members Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. Driven by the arrival of the female vocal trio the I-Threes and the virtuosity of lead guitarist Al Anderson, the album delivers a distinctive, brass-infused and particularly powerful roots sound. Featuring nine iconic tracks such as ‘Lively Up Yourself’, ‘Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)’ and the seminal studio version of ‘No Woman, No Cry’, the album addresses Jamaican political and social tensions with unwavering spiritual commitment. This remastered 180-gram vinyl reissue recreates the original dynamic depth of the sessions recorded at Harry J Studios in Kingston.
